A lamp to my feet

105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
106I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments.

Reflection
A lamp in the ancient world lit the next step, not the next mile. That is exactly how Scripture often guides us. You will rarely be given the whole map. You will frequently be given enough to take the next faithful step. Verse 106 is the response: 'I have sworn an oath… to keep your righteous rules.' Faithful obedience is committed in advance, not negotiated step by step. Today, take the lamp God has given you and put your foot down where the light falls.
