There is good news.
You don't have to clean yourself up to come to Jesus. You don't have to figure it all out first. Here's what He's done — and how to receive Him.
The Problem
Sin separated us.
Sin isn't only the obvious wrongs. It's the deeper pull to live as our own god — to set the terms, run the show, and quiet the conscience. Every one of us has done it. And the cost is real: a relational distance from a holy God we can't bridge by trying harder.
That's the bad news. But it's not the last word.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
"But your iniquities have built barriers between you and your God."

The Person
Jesus came for you.
Jesus is God in the flesh — fully God and fully man. He lived the life we couldn't live, and at the cross He took on Himself the judgment we earned. Three days later He walked out of the grave. The resurrection isn't a metaphor. It's the receipt that the debt is paid.
"But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
"For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."

The Response
Turn and trust.
Repent means a change of mind that becomes a change of direction — agreeing with God about your sin and turning from it. Believe means trusting Jesus, not just knowing about Him. Like sitting down in a chair — you stop holding yourself up and let it carry your weight.
You don't need to clean yourself up first. Come as you are. He receives you.
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
"Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away."

The New Life
You become new.
You're adopted into God's family. His Spirit comes to live in you and starts the slow, real work of changing you from the inside. You'll still struggle — but you're no longer alone in it, and you're no longer condemned.
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!"
"But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."

A prayer you can pray
In your own words — or these.
There are no magic words. God hears the heart. If you mean it, pray something like this:
Jesus, I've been running my own life and I've fallen short. I believe You died for my sin and rose again. I'm done pretending. I turn from my old way and I trust You. Be my Lord, my Savior, my friend. Make me new. Amen.
