Why trust the Bible?

The Bible is God's inspired, true, and sufficient Word. It's how He speaks to you today.

God-breathed

Paul says all Scripture is breathed out by God. Human authors wrote in their own styles and settings, but the Holy Spirit carried them along so that what they wrote is what God intended.

True and trustworthy

Jesus Himself treated the Scriptures as reliable and authoritative. The 66 books are the final authority for what Christians believe and how they live. Hard passages exist, but they invite study, not suspicion.

Enough for life and godliness

You don't need a secret word or a new revelation. Everything you need to know God, be saved, and live faithfully is in the Book. Read it in context, ask what it meant to its first readers, then apply it.

From Scripture

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (BSB)

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation. For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:20-21 (BSB)

The Law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart; the commandments of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

Psalm 19:7-8 (BSB)

For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Matthew 5:18 (BSB)
