Come to me, all who are weary
Jesus offers a kind of rest the world cannot manufacture.

Matthew 11:28-30
28Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Reflection
Jesus does not promise a lighter schedule. He promises a different yoke. The yoke of self-justification — earning, performing, proving — is heavy because it is endless. Jesus' yoke is easy not because there is no work, but because you are not carrying the weight alone, and you are not carrying it to earn anything. 'I will give you rest' is not 'I will give you a vacation.' It is 'I will give you the rest your soul cannot give itself.'

Spurgeon preached this invitation tirelessly to the weary — that Christ does not ask the burdened to clean themselves up first, but to come exactly as they are and find soul-rest in him.
