How their life points to Christ
Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness — the gospel pattern centuries before Sinai. Paul says all who trust Christ are 'Abraham's offspring.' The ram caught in the thicket at Moriah foreshadows the Lamb God himself provides.
Common misunderstandings
- Abraham was not sinless — he lied about Sarah twice and tried to manufacture the promise through Hagar.
- The covenant rested on God's faithfulness, not Abraham's perfect obedience.
